Former Newport Resident Dies
Mrs. Marcella Rogan, 85, Dies at Daughter’s Home in Marengo, Ill.

     Ill for a long time, Mrs. Marcella Rogan, 85, a former resident of 
Newport Township, died Sunday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. 
Adelaile Stark, Marengo, Ill.
     She was born at Pleasant Prairie, Aug. 15, 1851, a daughter of Mr. and 
Mrs. James Rafferty. Her husband preceded her in death several years ago.
     Two daughters survive. They are Mrs. Adelaile Stark, Marengo, Mrs. Mary 
McKay, Chicago, and six sons: James of Grayslake, Delbert of Libertyville, 
Joseph of Marengo, Leo of Lake Geneva, and William and Elmer of Kenosha.
     The body is at the Crossin funeral home where services will be held at 9 
o’clock Tuesday morning, and 9:30 at St. James church. Burial will be in St. 
James cemetery.
