Many Names/March 29, 1889/North Rutland/LaSalle County North Rutland, March 29.-Mrs. E. Parrott and Mary Conard spent Sunday in Northville among relatives and friends. Fannie Deenis, of Kankakee, spent Tuesday in North Rutland among friends. Wm. Debolt, of Henderson county, is visiting relatives in Rutland. We see the boys with fish two to three inches long. The boys say they are excellent. There was a party one night of this week at Mr. Enix's and quite a good crowd in attendance. All enjoyed themselves immensely. Fred McMicheal played flip so hard that it made his mustache curl. Jeff McLaughin thought spring had opened, so he shaved his upper lip. Some thought him a young priest. Go where you will, you will see young chickens. O.J. Christman will make his weekly visits among the farmers paying high prices for produce and selling groceries cheap. Virg Conard has been Ottawa this week helping clean streets. School will open in district No. 2 on Monday next, Etna Durkee, Teacher. Laura Conard will again try her hand teaching the Barns school. Milt Pedicord is preparing to build a barn. Frank Debolt says he doesn't want any more court in his- especially criminal cases. The sand boys get lots of rest lately. Fletcher Gibson of Ottawa, is going to spend the summer in the country near Wedron with his niece, Mrs. Millen. Look for cold weather that is coming. do not build air castles or carry the sitting room stove out to the out-house. Say, boys where was the fox chase? All we see of it was the men chasing one another. Tom McDermeit took the cake. It is a very busy time them Geo. McCombs can't get to Grand Ridge, but such was the case last week. We are informed his route was in the other direction and therefore, the results. C.E. Antram is expected home the latter part of the week. He returns home by way of Chicago. A number of Knox students will spend their week's vacation at home. It is reported that one of Lacy Hibbs children has the measles. Bert Haynes of Liberteville, Iowa, arrived here Wednesday evening. He will work for W. A Dearth this summer. Frank Bangs moved into the Ellsworth house. Wednesday of this week. He will run a corn Sheller and do odd jobs as an occupation. "Sooner's" sense of smell has fallen 50 per cent since Thursday of this week, the refuse north of Dunaway's being burined on that date. The boys say his wheel passes the spot now without balking.
