Deceased and his partner were taking out the pillars between the rooms, and had fired a blast the night before which left some top coal. Deceased was wedging down this coal, when it came away; a large rock came with it, from a slip in the roof, striking him on the head, with the above results. Deceased and his partner knew the rock was dangerous, but thought they were far enough away to avoid it. He leaves a widow and five children.
