Although the deceased died in Minnesota, he had been married in Earlville, LaSalle Co., IL and he and his wife had both resided there for a number of years. Earlville is mentioned in the obituary so that's why I'm submitting it to the LaSalle Co. Archives. Obituary: William Bartlett Elwell William Bartlett Elwell died at his home 703 East Lincoln Street at eleven o'clock Saturday night after an illness of years with heart trouble. Deceased was born at Coldwater, Mich, May 1, 1836. When but a child his parents moved to Earlville, Ill., where he grew to manhood and married in 1864 to Alfreda J. Phillips who survives him. They made their home at Earlville for a time and in 1871 moved to Iowa settling near Charles City where they lived until 16 years ago when they moved to this city and located on Lincoln street. There were ten children born to Mr. and Mrs. Elwell of whom seven are alive, Mrs. G. W. Markel, Fergus Falls; Mrs. Louie Gillett, Vining Minn.; Mrs. Frank Thomas, Charles City, Ia' Mrs. Joseph Wetzel, Artesian, S.D.; Mrs. A. H. Dean, Ames, Ia.; G.
