Obituary for George Heath, LaSalle County, Illinois GEO. HEATH, SR., DIES SUDDENLY Was Stricken At Wheel of Car; Rites To Be Wednesday George Heath. Sr., 72, retired La Salle locomotive engineer, died about 11 o'clock Sunday night at St. Mary's hospital, La Salle, about one and one-half hours after he suffered a stroke while driving his automobile into the yard at the family home, 1017 Joliet street. Mr. Heath, who for 43 years was employed as an engineer for the La Salle and Bureau railroad here, was retired from active service on pension three years ago. Though in poor health for some time, it was said, Mr. Heath had been able to be about. On Sunday evening he drove his automobile to the downtown business section of LaSalle. He returned to the family Home about 9:30 o'clock, it was said and as he drove his automobile into the yard, preparatory to placing the car in the garage for the night he apparently suffered a stroke for he lost control of the machine and It struck a tree before coming to a stop. Neighbors who heard the crash assisted Mr. Heath from the automobile and into the family home. A doctor was Immediately summoned and within a short time Mr. Heath was taken to the hospital where he passed away about 11 o'clock. Born In La Salle Mr. Heath was born in La Salle on February 18. 1866 a son of the late Richard and Amelia Heath. He was educated In the LaSalle schools and in January, 1892, was united in marriage to Minnie Trestrail of La Salle. Surviving are the widow and two children. Mrs. Grace Tyner, of Indianapolis, Ind. and George Heath, Jr., of Buffalo, N. Y. One sister, Miss Myra Heath, LaSalle, and a grandchild, Miss Grace Marilyn Heath. La Salle. also survive. One son, Richard Heath, La Salle, died four years ago One brother and four sisters also preceded him in death. Mr. Heath was a member of Acacia lodge A. F & A.M., LaSalle Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star the White Shrine, and St. John Commandery, Knights Templar, Peru. Funeral service are to be held on Wednesday afternoon at 2 O'clock from the family residence, 1017 Joliet street, with the Rev. Wayne Leighty, of the La Salle Methodist; church, in charge. Burial is to be made In Oakwood. cemetery, La Salle.
