Lawrence County Illinois Deed Record-FHL #1311702 This Indenture made and entered into this nineteenth day of March in the year of Our Lord One thousand eight hundred & fifty Between, John Sumner and Margaret his wife of the County of Lawrence State of Illinois of the One part and Charles Mason of the County & State aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that the said John Sumner and Margaret his wife, for and in consideration of the sum of fifty Dollars to them in hand paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, do hereby grant bargain sell, convey & confirm unto the said Charles Mason, his heirs & assigns, for forever all that Tract or parcel of Land Situated and being in the County of Lawrence and state of Illinois and designated and Shown as follows. Towit The East half of the South half of the West half of the South East section West of the boundary line of section Nine in Town Ship Three, North of Range Thirteen West in the district of Land subject to Sale at Palestine Illinois, containing Twenty acres, Together with and singular the appurtenances there unto belonging or in anywise appertaining. To have and To hold the above described premises unto the said Charles Mason his heirs and assigns forever, and the said John Sumner and Margaret his wife the afforesaid premises unto the said Charles Mason his heirs and assigns against the claim or claims, of all and every person, Whomsoever, do and will warrant and for ever defend by these presents. In Witness Whereof, the said John Sumner, and Margaret, his wife of the first part have hereunto, set their hand and seals the day and year first above written. Signed sealed and delivered in the presents of John x Sumner Margaret x Sumner B. F. Malone State of Illinois Lawrence County, I Benjamin Fillalone a Justice of the Peace of said County do certify that John Sumner and Margaret his wife whose signatures appear to the foregoing deed and who are personally Known to me to be the persons described in and who executed the same did severally acknowledge that they had executed the said conveyance for the uses purposes therein mentioned and the said Margaret Sumner having been by me made acquainted with the contents of the said deed and examined seperate and apart from her said husband, acknowledged that she had executed the same and relinquished her Dour to the premises therein conveyed, Voluntarily freely and without compulsion, of her said husband Given under my hand and seal this Nineteenth day of March AD 1850 B.
