State of Illinois, Lee County, Filed for Record November 15th 1852 at 9 o'clock a.m. and recorded in Book H of Deeds Pages 544 & 545. I. S. Boardman Jr., Recorder. This Indenture made the twenty second day of June in the year of our Lord One Thousand eight hundred and fifty two between John Crawford of Tyrone township, in the Count of Blair and State of Pennsylvania and Jane his wife of the first part and Armstrong Crawford of the same Township, County and State of the second part, Witnesseth that the said John Crawford and Jane his wife for and in consideration of the sum of Five Hundred Dollars, lawful money of the United States of America unto them well and truly paid by the said Armstrong Crawford, at an before the sealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt where of is hereby acknowledge have granted, bargained, sold, aliened, enfeoffed, released, conveyed, and confirmed, and by these presents do grant, bargain, sell, alien, enfeoff, release, convey, and confirm unto the said Armstrong Crawford his heirs and assigns, all the following mentioned and described pieces, parcels, and tracts of land situate in the State of Illinois, to wit: The west half of the South east quarter, and the Lot, numbered on of the South West quarter of Section Eighteen, in Township Twenty One, North of Range eleven East, in the District of lands of the United States which were subject to sale at Dixon, in the said State of Illinois, containing one hundred and sixty acres; Also the West half of the South West quarter of Section Seventeen, and the East half of the South East quarter of Section Eighteen, in Township twenty one North of Range Eleven East, in the District of United States lands which were subject to sale at Dixon in the said State of Illinois, containing one hundred and sixty acres, (being the same pieces, parcels, and tracts of land, which became vested in the said John Crawford his heirs and assigns by virtue of two patents granted to the said John Crawford, by the United States, each bearing date the twentieth day of December One thousand eight hundred and fifty; one thereof granted to the said John Crawford as the assignee of John T. Owens, who was the owner of a warrant in his favor numbered 66.165; the other thereof granted to the said John Crawford and to his heirs, as assignee of Green B. Carter, who was the owner of a warrant in his favor, numbered 56.746; as by reference to the said Patents, and the record thereof in the General Land Office, at the city of Washington, more fully, and at large appears: )Together with all and singular the improvements, ways, waters, water courses, rights, liberties, privileges, heredilaments and appurtenances whatsoever thereunto belonging or in any wise appentaining, and the reversions, and remainders, rents, issues, and profits thereof, and all the estate, right, title, interest, property, claim and demand, whatsoever, of them the said John Crawford and Jane his wife, in law, equity, or otherwise howsoever, of, in, and to the same, and every part, and parcel thereof: To have and to hold the said pieces parcels, and tracts of land, hereditaments and premises, hereby granted, or mentioned or intended so to be with the appurtenances unto the said Armstrong Crawford his heirs and assigns, to and for the only proper use and behoof of the said Armstrong his heirs and assigns forever. And the said John Crawford for himself his heirs, executors and administrators doth by these presents, covenant, grant, and agree to and with the said Armstrong Crawford his heirs and assigns that they the said John Crawford and Jane his wife and their heirs all and singular the lands, hereditaments, and premises herein above described, and granted or mentioned, and intended so to be with the appurtenances unto the said Armstrong Crawford his heirs and assigns against them the said John Crawford and Jane his wife and their heirs, and against all and every other person or persons whomsoever lawfully claiming or to claim the same or any part thereof, by, from or under them, or any, or either of the, their or either of their heirs, shall and will warrant and forever defend. Be it remembered that on the twenty second day of June --- in the year of Our Lord One Thousand eight hundred and fifty-two, personally came before me the subscriber, the President Judge of the Twenty fourth Judicial District of the State of Pennsylvania, of which District said County of Blair is a part, the above named John Crawford and Jane his wife, the identity of both of whom has been proven to me by Joseph Dysart and Peter Pool -------- and severally acknowledged the foregoing Indenture to be their act and deed, and desired that the same might be recorded as such according to law. She the said Jane being of full age and separate and apart, from her said husband by me examined, the contents thereof being first made known to her, declaring that she did voluntarily, and of her own free will and accord, seal and as her act and deed deliver the said Indenture, without any coercion or compulsion on the part of her said husband. Johnston, Prothonotary of the Court of Common Pleas of Blair County, do certify that George Taylor whose name in his own proper handwriting, with which I am acquainted, is signed to the foregoing acknowledgement is the President Judge of the said Court, and of the twenty-fourth Judicial District of Pennsylvania of which District the County of Blair is a part, that he is duly commissioned and qualified, that all his acts as such are entitled to full faith and credit as well in courts of Justice as elsewhere, and the he is authorized by the laws of Pennsylvania to take the acknowledgement of deeds.
