Gott, 49, Norris City, died Thursday morning, Aug. 8, 2002 at his home in rural Norris City. Mr. Gott was born March 9, 1953 in Fairfield, the son of Daniel P. and Deanna Robylee (Hill) Gott. He was a radio operator for the Carmi Police Department and White County Sheriff's Department. He graduated from ITT and then earned a degree in computer programming in Nashville, Tenn. Mr. Gott was an avid musician, fronting several bands, including Companie. He was a major influence on many local musicians and continued to work as a singer, songwriter and producer. He owned My House Productions, a recording studio, and produced and recorded a number of local musicians. He released a self-recorded compact disc of gospel music over a year ago and had sung at a number of gospel concerts and other events, including the American Cancer Society Relay for Life. Surviving are his mother, Robylee Gott of Carmi; a sister, Connie Gott, and a brother and sister-in-law, Tony and Carla Gott of Carmi; and a special nephew and niece, Jesse and Kati Harrell.
