Lethia Jane (Mobley) Porter, 75, Kensett, Ark., died at 2:45 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2002 at White County Medical Center in Searcy, Ark. Mrs. Porter was born May 11, 1927 in Herald, the daughter of George and Helen (Weasel) Mobley. She worked at Brownie's Restaurant, Sail Inn Cafe, Bartley's and Wabash Independent Oil Co. in Norris City. She had been a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Norris City. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Laveta and Bill Bishop of Searcy, Ark.; six grandchildren, Tammie and Yoel Carrera, Brandon and Dee Bishop, and Carrie Ann and Jimmy Guthrie; seven great-grandchildren, Cruz and Mikey Carrera, Alisha and Branson Bishop, and Jamie, Jordan and McKenzie Guthrie; a brother, Edward Mobley of Freeburg; two sisters, Freda Phillips and Doris Austin, both of Norris City; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sons, Tommy and John Porter. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City. Burial will be at Powell Cemetery near Norris City.
