Stephenson, Jr., - Historian, Bock Family Association William [Edward] Bock was born in November [2], 1909 in the Beason rural area of a family of six children. His parents were [John] Henry Bock (1878- 1960) and Wilhemena [Ricka] Awe (1875-1939). He was educated at Mt. Zion Elementary School and graduated from Beason High School. Me married Emma Otte, June 1940. Emma Otte was born in East Lincoln Township in October, 1914 to William Otte (1878-1967) and Emma Von Drehle (1886-1975) of a family of seven children. She was educated in Duff Rural Elementary School, graduated from Lincoln High School and deaconess School of Nursing with an R. N. Degree. They farmed in the Broadwell vicinity on the farm of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Sheets (1880-1963, 1881-1967), who owned and operated the Sheets Funeral Home in Lincoln Illinois. They are the parents of Dan, born November 1942 in Logan County. He was educated in the Broadwell School System, graduated from Lincoln High School, 1960, and the University of Illinois with B.S. and M.S. Degrees. He received the Kiwanis Award, was active in 4-H and FFA activities, Judging teams, International Show in Chicago, Waterloo Show in Iowa, Breeder and Owner of purebred cattle. He taught at Princeton High School, Princeton, Illinois and Lincoln High School. He was vocational Coordinator, Superintendent Junior State Fair Exhibit and State of Illinois show. He married Shirley Endress in August, 1971, who is teaching in the Lincoln elementary School system. Dan is employed at Bock and Associates Realtors and resides locally. Lois was born May 1948 in Lincoln, Illinois. She was educated in the Broadwell School System and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1966. She attended the University of Arkansas at Fayette and the University of Louisiana at Baton Rouge. She was active in 4-H and was awarded a Washington, D.C. trip. She received the Good Citizen Award, was the Logan County Fair Queen in 1966 and the State winner in the "Make it with Wool" contest. She married James Dockey in 1969. There are two children, Angela, December, 1980 and Kristina, April, 1982. Employed at Henderson State Teachers College of Liberal Arts, teaching design. They reside in Little Rock, Arkansas. Mary Anne was born January 1945 in Logan County. She was educated in the Broadwell School system, graduated from Lincoln High School in 1963 and University of Illinois in 1967. She also attended Northern Illinois University in Dekalb. She worked overseas to acquire expertise in her field, French. She achieved the 4-H Improvement and 4-H Club Congress Awards, was a member of the State Poultry Judging team in Chicago, the top individual giving reasons in the nation representing the Illinois team. She married John Landon, June 1972. They have two children: Emily, born February 1977 and Stephanie, born April, 1981. Mary Ann teaches in Crystal Lake High School. John is in business. They reside in Crystal Lake, Illinois. All children attended and taught Sunday School and were members of the church choir at Immanuel Lutheran Church. They were each elected to membership in the National Honor Society while attending Lincoln High School. Purebred Milking Shorthorn cattle was our program. For many years we bred cattle and showed them on county, state and national levels, having Champion and Grand Champion animals. Since 1961 we lived and operated our farm in east Lincoln township. Emma worked for years at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital. William was a member of the school board for twenty years, assisting the organizing and building of the school forming the consolidated school system of Broadwell, as well as serving on the Logan County Fair board and department superintendent.
