Stephenson, Jr., - Historian, Bock Family Association Elkhart Sesquicentennial 1855 – 2005 p. 113 Fulcher William Fulcher came to the area in 1896 and was a well-known agriculturist. He wed Elizabeth Bock and they had three children, Abraham (Abe), Ella, and Julianna. Abe wed Blanche Luckhart and had one daughter, Juanita who wed Wayne Henderson and lives on a family farm near Williamsville. Ella wed Darrell Shockey and they had one son, Jerry. They farmed and lived on the original family farmstead. Julianna wed Richard Stringer and they had one daughter, Elizabeth. During the Depression years, the Fulcher’s served their famous Sunday Chicken Dinners at their home on Mt. Fulcher (which is about 3 miles south of Elkhart). People came from near and as far as Springfield to partake of the bounteous dinners that sole for One Dollar. They also raised pink peonies on the south side of the hill to sell for decorations on Memorial Day.
