Warrick Jr. Transcribed from "History of Logan County, Illinois" with updates by William L. Stephenson Jacob G. Warrick, Jr. was one of the first settlers in Broadwell Township, Logan County, Illinois. He was a native of Virginia and was reared in Gibson County, Indiana where he married Elizabeth "Patsy" Skelton, who's family migrated from Kentucky, May 15, 1827. Jacob was born June 02, 1807 and died March 16, 1858. He is buried in Old Union Cemetery, Lincoln, Logan County, Illinois. Elizabeth was born September 26, 1809 and died May 23, 1875. In 1832, Jacob, Elizabeth, and two children settled in Broadwell Township on Section 10. The following spring they moved to Lake Fork. The following year they became residents of Section 11 in Braodwell township. Their children were - Montgomery Warrick, Jr., born March 09, 1828 in Indiana, died December 13, 1848 soon after marriage, in Logan County, Illinois, buried in Old Union Cemetery, Lincoln, Logan County, Illinois, married May 15, 1848 to Cynthia Marvel. Sarah Jane Warrick, born January 14, 1829 in Indiana, died April 01, 1861 in Illinois, married (1) October 28, 1850 James Musick and (2) January 29, 1856 John Thomas. Robert M. Warrick, born February 25, 1831 in Illinois, died March 21, 1856 in Lincoln, Logan County, Illinois. Emily Warrick, born March 14, 1833, died September 12, 1833. John C. Warrick, born November 20, 1835, married August 28, 1870 Maggie Laper. William Warrick, born December 26, 1837, died in the Civil War February 28, 1863. Benjamin Conger Warrick, born January 30, 1840, died 1918, married August 08, 1861 Elizabeth "Bettie" Rankin. Nancy E. Warrick, born July 06, 1842, died December 22, 1879, married August 01, 1861 Moses H. "Eli" Fletcher. Martha C. "Patsy" Warrick, born June 17, 1845, married (1) William A. McCord and (2) James Cochran. Infant Twins Warrick, born and died about 1847. Louisa Warrick, born August 13, 1849, married (1) November 03, 1874, Joseph Mauck and (2) October 25, 1881 W. H. Turner. Jacob Warrick was an active progressive farmer and lived to improve a farm of 440 acres. He was for many years engaged in buying and feeding stock being one of the largest stock-raisers in the county. He died in 1857 aged fifty-five years. Elizabeth died in 1876 at the age of sixty-eight. Jacob G. Warrick, Jr. served in the Black Hawk War where he was a comrade of Abraham Lincoln.
