Stephenson, Jr., - Historian, Bock Family Association Abraham Bock, born December 1, 1832, and Juliana (Mohr) Bock, Born July 1, 1832, emigrated from Germany to the U. S. A., in 1857. They were married in Ohio, January 8, 1858. They came to Elkhart, Illinois, in 1862, and settled on a farm southwest of Elkhart. Most of the original acreage acquired by him is still in the possession of his descendents. Children born to this union were: Fred, Louis, William, George, Elizabeth, and Ella. Fred Bock married Elizabeth Hanner. To this union nine children were born: William, Frank, Anna, Nellie (married William Bourne, a barber in the Williamsville area, and some of their descendants still reside there.) Abe, Fred, Mable, Bryan and Esther. Louis Bock married Henrietta Lauer. To this union eight children were born: Ella, Minnie, Abe, Fred, Elizabeth, Pearl, Louis and Henrietta. William Bock married Emma Dennerline. To this union five children were born: Harry, Erma, Ida, Arthur and Paul. George bock married Anna Steinhour and to this union five children were born: Everett, Gerald, Julia, George and Edwin. Descendants of Everett still reside in this area and farm some of the original land. Elizabeth Bock married W. J. Fulcher. To this union three children were born: Abram (Abe), ella and Juliana. They also reared a foster daughter, Edna. Abe married Blanche Luckhart. To this union one daughter was born: Juanita Louise married Wayne Henderson. To this union five children were born: Jeffery Lynne, terry Wayne, Bonita Kay, Curtis Bret, and Stuart Bart. Jeffery married Karen Woodrum, and they were parents of two sons, Dion and Brian. Terry married Sharon Covert, and they are parents of two children, Matthew and Barbara. Bonita married Walter Ostrander, and they are the parents of three children, Robert, Daniel, and Melissa. Curtis Bret is deceased, and Stuart Bart is engaged in farming at home. Abe and Blanche started farming on a farm just south of the Logan County line in 1919, and of this writing, still reside there. Ella married Darrell Shockley (both deceased). To this union one son was born: Jerry bock Shockley married Anna Louise Buckstegge. To this union four children were born: Gail, J. B., Roger, and Melissa. They all reside in Lincoln, Illinois. Jerry is in the insurance business and owns part of the original Bock homestead. Juliana married Richard Stringer (deceased). To this union one daughter was born. Elizabeth married Kenson Fuller. To this union one daughter was born: Marilyn. Julianna, a former school teacher in the Beason area, resides in Lincoln, and is part owner of the original Bock Homestead. Ella Bock married Walter Gallion. To this union one son was born: Bernard married Florence Hartman. To this union two daughters were born, Carol Lyn and Sharon Lee. Walter Gallion was a blacksmith in Elkhart, and Ella Gallion was noted for her homemade potato soup that she served to her great niece and nephew at final exam time. The country schools would send their graduating class to Elkhart to take their finals. Elkhart Siltennial 1853-1980 Bock Abraham and Julianna Mohr Bock were emigrants of Germany and settled on a farm South of Elkhart in 1862. Most of the original acreage acquired by him is still in possession of his descendants. Their children are: Frederick, Louis, William, George, Elizabeth (Mrs. William Fulcher) and Ella (Mrs. Walter Gallion). George married Anna Steinhauer and after his death in his early thirties she reared the four surviving children on the family farm. Everett M. the oldest dropped out of school after his father's death to help his mother run the farm. He resides in Springfield. Gerald F. (Bud), who died in 1978 made his home in Leroy. Julia Bock Miller (deceased) who taught in the newly established Elkhart High School from 1920 until 1936 later made numerous trips and made many lectures in the form of travelogues augmenting them by local people modeling costumes from each country. She served on the Elkhart Centennial pageant committee in 1955. George Jr. lives in Mattoon. Edwin died in infancy. Children of Everett M. and Louise Gulick Bock (deceased) are: Dr. Harold Louis of Normal, Everett Wayne of Elkhart and Julia Marie Durst of Homer. Wayne and Billie Haynes Bock's children are: Rebecca (Mrs. Edward M. Barry) Lincoln; Roger W. of Williamsville, and Gerald Edwin, who is married to Jean Tarr of Springfield.
