Stephenson Benjamin C. Warrick, son of Jacob G. Warrick, a pioneer of Logan County, Illinois, was born January 30, 1840, in Broadwell Township , Logan County, Illinois, and lived in Logan County until his death in 1918. He is buried in Old Union Cemetery near Lincoln, Logan County, Illinois. He lived at the old homestead until his marriage on August 08, 1861 in Logan County, Illinois (vol 1 page 294 lic 586) to Elizabeth "Bettie" Rankin, the oldest daughter of Edward Rankin and Rachael Allen (both born in Ohio). Elizabeth was born October 1, 1844 in Fayette County, Ohio and died in 1927 in Logan County, Illinois and is buried in Old Union Cemetery in Logan County. Elizabeth was raised in the same neighborhood as Benjamin and they attended the same school. After the marriage of Benjamin and Elizabeth, they made their home on section 11 in Broadwell Township, his farm containing 324 acres of land under the best cultivation. Benjamin Warrick was a thorough and practical farmer. Benjamin and Elizabeth raised five children -Edward R. Warrick, born July 9, 1862, died in 1941, married Ella Chellecher. William Prentice Warrick, born April 1, 1863, married Sarah E. Morris. John A. Warrick, born June 01, 1867, died August 13, 1955, married Mary Elizabeth Apel. Sinnett R. Warrick, born July 09, 1870, died March 29, 1893. Seth A. Warrick, born September 30, 1872, died in 1967, married Cora Buckles. The Warricks also had an adopted daughter Mary Chrisfellow, a soldier's daughter (which is all that we have been able to find about Mary Chrisfellow). Benjamin Warrick was a Republican and was an active worker for his party. He served his township as supervisor.
