Stephenson, Jr., - Historian, Bock Family Association Lincoln Courier July 1939 >From the records of Dorothy Laun Family Reunion at Country Home The home of Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Fulcher, south of Elkhart, was an ideal place for the Bock family reunion held there Sunday. This was the tenth annual reunion and was attended by more than 100 relatives. A business session took place in the afternoon, Mrs. Emmett Read, of Elkhart, presiding. The following officers were elected: President - Miss Blanche Martin Vice-president - Mrs. Ferne Gasaway Secretary-Treasurer - Miss Maxine Lawn (Laun) Chairman of program committee - Mrs. Carl Bock The eldest member present was J. H. Wilmert, 81, of Atlanta. The youngest were Eleanor Lynn, six weeks old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Wilmert of Lincoln and Russell Dohn, four months old son of Mr. and Mrs. Emmett Read of Elkhart. Members coming from the greatest distance were Dr. R. H. Hunter and family of Malinson, Wisconsin. The following program was given: "America" and Lord's Prayer by group. Solo, "Deep Purple" and "Pale Moon" - Merritt Baker Quartette, "Invocation" and "Out of the Dusk to You" - Misses Dorothy and Jeanette Rhoads, Blanche Martin and Enid Bingham. Piano Duet - Betty and Laura Jean Gasaway. Mrs. Julia Bock Harwood, of Decatur, gave a most interesting account of her visit to the Holy Land, appearing in costume. A short memorial was held for Mrs. Henry Bock, Mrs. Kathryn Bock, Edgar Johnson and Howard Laun who died during the past year. The girls quartette sang, "A Rainbow Bye and Bye." Poem, - "United" - Mrs. Emmett Read. Prayer for bereaved families - Mrs. Anna Bock. Following the program ice cream and cake were served. Mrs. Harwood took many pictures of individual family groups and of the entire group. These pictures in color will be shown on the screen at the 1940 reunion to be held at the Country Club in Girard, guests of Mr. and Mrs. John Warrick and family.
