Stephenson, Jr., - Historian, Bock Family Association July 24, 1977 >From the records of Dorothy Laun Bock Reunion Held Recently The forty-fifth annual Bock reunion was held on Sunday, July 24, 1977, at Lincoln Recreation Center, Lincoln. There were approximately 75 members present. A basket dinner was served at noon with many homemade goodies. Mary and Kenneth Buckles, co-presidents, conducted the business meeting. Gail Apel, Secretary-Treasurer, read the reports and a letter from Alma Berger Downey. There was a discussion about the place of next year's reunion with general approval being given to having the reunion at the Lincoln Recreation Center. Paul Gosda conducted a memorial service for the following: Frank Bode, Alma Apel, Catherine Keisling, Mary Willmert Bode, C. C. White and Roy Pogorelski. Gifts were presented to the following: Oldest Lady - Mrs. Leah Apel; Oldest Man - Mr. August Brautigam; Youngest Girl - Beth Buckles; Youngest Boy - Jason Netzley; Most Children Present - Mr. August Brautigam; Couple Married Longest - Mr. and Mrs. Walter Bode; Family Traveling Most Miles; Mr. and Mrs. Walter Lauer. A plant auction was conducted by Adam Bock and a nail driving contest was held. The new 1978 officers are the following: Mr. and Mrs. Carl Bock, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Lauer and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Keest. Mr. and Mrs. Larry Steffens were the 1977 co-vice-presidents.
