Stephenson, Jr., - Historian, Bock Family Association On file in the Lincoln Public Library Lincoln Evening Courier & Lincoln Herald, Lincoln, Illinois Saturday September 10, 1921 pg 1 Henry Bock, Aged 80, Died This Morning Henry Bock passed away at his home at 503 Seventh street this morning at 11 o'clock following an extended illness, due to old age and complications. Mr. Bock was born in Unteyckenbach, Germany, Jan 11, 1841, dying at the age of 80 years. He came to this country 48 years ago and has spent most of this time in Logan county. Up to twenty years ago he resided on a farm near Lawndale, when he retired and moved to Lincoln, where he purchased the home place on Seventh street. He was married in this city Oct. 8, 1910, to Katherine Baumhardt, who, with the following sisters and brothers, survive: Mrs. Adolph Laun of Middletown; Mrs. J. H. Wilmert, residing near Atlanta, and Mrs. George Apel and Adam Bock of this city. Funeral services will be held Monday Afternoon. Rev. G. S. Gerhold in charge. Short services will be held from the home at 1 o'clock and from the St. John's church, of which the deceased has been an ardent worker, at 2 o'clock. Short services where held from the home at 1 o'clock, following services from the St. John's church at 2 o'clock. Both services were in charge of Rev. G. S. Gerhold. The body was taken to its last resting place in Union cemetery by the pall bearers: Adam Denger, Oscar Mittendorff, Gus Briegel, Frank Voepel, Adolph Gehlbach, and C. E. Knorr.
