Stephenson, Jr., - Historian, Bock Family Association On file in the Lincoln Public Library The Lincoln Courier, Lincoln, Illinois Wednesday 16 September 1987 pg 6 col 5 Funeral services for William E,(dward) Bock, 77 of Lincoln, who died at 5:30 a.m. Tuesday Sept 15, 1987, at Memorial Medical Center, Springfield, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Immanuel Lutheran Church with the Revs. Charles Luttinen and Don Beckman officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Lincoln. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Holland & Barry Funeral Home. Mr. Bock, who helped organize Broadwell District 68, was president of its school board 21 years. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and the church's brotherhood. He was a 40-year member of the Illinois Farm Bureau Farm Management Service and a member of the Farm Bureau. He also was a member of the Logan County Fair Board and was a fair swine superintendent for 37 years. Also, he was a member of the Lincoln Community High School Agricultural Advisory Council. He was active in CROP fund drives, and was an officer of the Logan County Ag Toastmasters Club. Mr. Bock was born Nov. 2, 1909, in Beason, a son of Henry and Wilhelmine Awe Bock. He married Emma P. Otte on June 18, 1940, in Lincoln. She survives. Also surviving are a son, Daniel, Lincoln; two daughters, Mary Ann Landon, Crystal Lake, and Lois Dockery, Little Rock, Ark.; three brothers, Walter, Carl, Adam, all of Lincoln; as sister Hilda Bock, Lincoln; and five grandchildren. One brother preceded him in death. Memorials may be made to the Immanuel Lutheran Church Special Fund.
