Stephenson, Jr., - Historian, Bock Family Association Carl A. Bock, 89, of Lincoln (Logan county, IL), died at 5:15p.m. Thursday (Nov. 30, 2000) at his residence. His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday (Dec. 4, 2000) at St. John's United Church of Christ, Lincoln, with the Rev. Richard Reinwald officiating. Burial will be in New Union Cemetery, Lincoln. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Holland & Barry Funeral Home, Lincoln. Memorials may be made to St. John's United Church of Christ, Lincoln He was born Sept. 12, 1911, in Beason, the son of Henry and Minnie Awe Bock. He married Lillian I. Furman on June 18, 1938, in Lincoln. She died Feb. 9, 1990. He is survived by two daughters, Jean Netzley, Springfield; and Aileen Anthony, Roswell, Ga.; one brother, Adam Bock, Lincoln; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, C. Allen Bock; one sister, Hilda Bock; and three brothers, Walter, William and Henry Bock. He was a retired farmer who farmed along with his new wife near Broadwell from 1938 until retiring in 1989. He was a lifelong member of St. John's United Church of Christ, a lifelong member of St. John's Brotherhood, a lifelong member of the Farm Bureau, 4-H leader for 25 years and a toastmaster for 30 years.
