Arbogast Bode transcription by William L. Stephenson, Jr. Central Illinois Ruth I. Bode Danvers – Ruth I. Bode, 94, of 4552 E. 2050 N. Road, Danvers, died at 4:55 p.m. Monday (Dec. 12, 2005) at BroMenn Regional Medical Center, Normal. Her funeral will be at noon Friday at the North Danvers Mennonite Church, Danvers, with the Rev. Richard Bucher officiating. Burial will be at North Danvers Mennonite Church Cemetery, Danvers. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Friday at the church. Memorials may be made to North Danvers Mennonite Church, Danvers, or to the Shriner’s Hospital for Crippled Children. Arrangements are being handled by Otto-Argo-Calvert Memorial Home, Danvers. She was born June 23, 1911, in Minier to John and Ella Phillippi Arbogast. She married Walter W. Bode on Oct. 25, 1932, in Hopedale. He survives. Also surviving are one son, Myron (Carolyn) Bode, Danvers; two grandchildren, Brett (Kim) Bode, Ames, Iowa, and Brad (Bethany) Bode, Congerville; two great- grandchildren, Albert and Lauren Bode, Ames, Iowa; one niece, Helen (Don) Doty, McLean; and one nephew, Robert (Cindy) Arbogast, Minier. She was preceded in death by both parents; one daughter; Ella Marie Bode; one brother, Ernest Arbogast; one sister Gladys Bode; and one great-granddaughter, Ella Marie Bode. She was a member of North Danvers Mennonite Church in Danvers. Ruth graduated from Minier High School. She was valedictorian of her class. She attended Illinois State University and taught school for one year. She worked for several years as a bookkeeper; including at Schrock Fertilizer; Union Insurance Group and Eureka Mineral. She retired in 1978. Ruth and Walter celebrated their 73rd wedding anniversary this past October. Ruth was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
