Bock, 80, of Lincoln died at 11:25 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 11, 1988 at St. Clara's Manor, Lincoln. Mr. bock lived on the family farm near Beason for 76 years, farming most of those years, prior to moving to Lincoln four years ago. He was a member and former board member of the Logan County Farm Bureau and was a charter member of the Illinois Farm Bureau Farm Management Service and the Logan County Toastmasters Club. He also was a past member of the Beason District 17 School Board and was active in CROP fundraising activities. He was a member of St. John United Church of Christ and the church's Brotherhood. A former Sunday School teacher, he was a council member and was treasurer of the church's board. He was born Oct. 16, 1907 near Beason, a son of Henry and Minnie Awe Bock. Surviving are two brothers, Adam and Carl, both of Lincoln; and one sister Hilda bock, also of Lincoln. He was preceded in death by two brothers. Funeral services are at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at st John United Church of Christ with the Rev. Richard Reinwald officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Lincoln. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Holland and Barry Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to St. John United Church of Christ.
