Stephenson, Jr., - Historian, Bock Family Association Lincoln Courier - February 4, 1976 George W. Laun George W. Laun, 81, Atlanta, died at 6:35 a.m. Wednesday Feb. 4, at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital, Lincoln. His Funeral was Friday, Feb. 6 at the Hartsburg United Methodist Church, The Rev. Lowell White officiating. Burial was in Hartsburg Union Cemetery. Holland and Barry Funeral Home, Lincoln, was in charge of arrangements. Mr. Laun was born Oct 4, 1894, in Hartsburg, as son of Adolph and Minnie bock Laun. He married Marie Seefeldt Feb. 19, 1918, in Lincoln. She survives. Also surviving are a son, George "Buzz", Hartsburg; four daughters, Miss Maxine Laun and Miss Mary Laun, both of Peoria; Miss Dorothy Laun, 407 1/2 W. Seminary, Bloomington; and Mrs. Billy Litwiller, Armington; a sister, Mrs. Marie White, Greenview, and seven grandchildren. Two brothers and a grandson preceded him in death. He was a retired farmer and was a member of Hartsburg United Methodist Church. ----- Lincoln Area Deaths - February 5, 1976 Atlanta - George W. Laun, 81, of Rural Route One, Atlanta, a retired farmer, died at 6:35 a.m. Wednesday at ALM Hospital. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Hartsburg United Methodist Church with the Rev. Lowell White officiating. Burial will be in Hartsburg Union Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 5 and from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Holland and Barry Funeral Home. The casket will be taken to the church at noon Friday. The deceased was born Oct. 4, 1894 in Hartsburg, a son of Adolph and Minnie Bock Laun. He was married to Marie Seefeldt Feb. 19, 1918 in Lincoln. She survives as do one son, George (Buzz) of Hartsburg; four daughters, Maxine and Mary, both of Peoria; Dorothy of Bloomington; and Mrs. Marie White of Greenview; and seven grandchildren. Two brothers and a grandson preceded him in death. He was a member of the Hartsburg United Methodist church. The family suggest memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
