Stephenson, Jr. – Historian, Bock Family Association Lincoln Evening Courier, Lincoln, Illinois January 6, 1937 Mrs. Minnie Lawn Claimed by Death The death of Mrs. Minnie Bock Lawn, 71, widow of Adolph Lawn, occurred at 5:20 Wednesday morning at her home northwest of Middletown. She had been ill for a week suffering from a complication of ailments. Mrs. Lawn was born in Unterjackenbach, West Prussia, Germany, Dec. 8, 1865, and came to this country at the age of four years, accompanying her father, Adam Bock, two brothers and six sisters. Her husband preceded her in death 35 years. She is survived by the following three sons and one daughter: Howard Lawn, Lincoln; George Lawn, Hartsburg; Henry Lawn, New Holland and Mrs. Marie Johnson of near Greenview. She also leaves one sister, Mrs. J. H. Wilmert of Atlanta and twelve grandchildren. The funeral will take place at one o’clock Friday afternoon from the home and at 2 o’clock from Zion Lutheran church in New Holland, Rev. M. H. A. Guemmer officiating. She was a member of Zion Lutheran church. Burial will be in Richmond Grove cemetery. The body will be removed Thursday morning from the Goff Funeral home to the Lawn home.
