Edward Rankin Dead
Edward Rankin, one of Logan county’s best known and wealthiest farmers, and 
for years a resident of Broadwell township, quietly passed away at 9 o’clock 
yesterday morning, after a long illness.  The funeral will take place today at 
2 o’clock from the family residence.  Mr. Rankin was born in Fayette county, 
Ohio, Nov. 2, 1812.  In 1846 he came to Logan county in company with his 
brothers, William and Sinnett.  He wans some 1500 acres of valuable land.  He 
was respected by all who knew him.
