Stephenson, Jr. August 30, 2007 Lincoln Courier Lincoln, Illinois February 15, 1965 Gary Schilling, Wife Victims in Wisconsin Crash The Rev. and Mrs. Gary E. Schilling of Watertown, Wis., were killed in a car accident at Astico, Wis., Saturday at 12:30 p. m. Mrs. Schilling was the former Judith Ann Steffens of Lincoln and was born here March 13, 1940, the daughter of Clarence and Mildred Brautigam Steffens. She leaves her parents; the grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. August Brautigam and Martin Steffens of Lincoln; a brother, Larry Steffens, who is in the Army in Okinawa, and a sister, Miss Donna Steffens of Gainesville, Fla. She was a member of Zion Lutheran church, a graduate of Lincoln high School in 1858 and before her marriage was employed as a secretary at Concordia Seminary in Springfield. The Rev. Schilling, who was ordained in 1964, was born Nov. 23, 1938, it Keokuk, Ia., the son of Herman and Helen Weed Schilling. He leaves a sister, Nancy Sue of Pekin. He was chaplain of Bethesda Lutheran Home at Watertown. The bodies are at Preston Funeral Home in Pekin and friends may call there Monday afternoon and evening. Services will be at 11 a.m., Tuesday from St. John’s Lutheran church of Pekin. The bodies will be removed later to Holland and Barry Funeral Home in Lincoln. Local arrangements are incomplete. February 16, 1965 Schilling Funerals Services for the rev. and Mrs. Gary Schilling of Watertown, Wis., who were killed in a car accident Saturday, will be at 1 p.m., Wednesday from Zion Lutheran church of Lincoln with the Rev. Arthur E. Neitzel officiating. Burial will be in Zion Cemetery.
