Baker Walters transcription by William L. Stephenson, Jr. Audrey Walters Atlanta – Audrey L. Walters, 83, of rural Atlanta, died at 11:05 a.m. Monday, July 10, 2006, at Maple Ridge Care Centre. Mrs. Walters worked at the Ranch House Restaurant in Bloomington. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Minier and was a Gold Star Member of the Armington Legion Auxiliary. Mrs. Walters received the Kate Smith Award for Distinguished Personal Heroism on Nov. 12, 1936. She was born Aug. 29, 1922, in rural Logan County, daughter of Lewis N. and Erma M. Reinhart Baker. She married Myron E. Walters on Aug. 31, 1940. He died July 18, 1993. Surviving are two sons, William R. Walters of Minier and Randy L. Walters of Atlanta; two daughters, Ada M. Neff of Armington and Laura M. Gordon of McLean; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren. One daughter, one son and one granddaughter also preceded her in death. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Bethel Cemetery, rural Emden, with the Rev. John Horner officiating. There is no visitation. Memorials may be made to the Armington Fire Rescue Department. Peasley Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
