Stephenson, Jr., - Historian, Bock Family Association Lincoln Evening Courier, Lincoln, Illinois (1946) J. H. Willmert, 89, Dies in Atlanta (Illinois) John H. Willmert, 89, rural route 2, Atlanta, died at 11:45 p.m. Wednesday at his farm residence. He was born Jan. 3, 1858 at Reinhardtshansen, Furstentun Waldec, Germany, a son of Frederick William and Katharine Ravensburg Willmert. His father died when he was 2 1/2 year old and he was reared by his mother. He was educated in germany and was confirmed there in 1872 at a little church in Oderhausen. Mr. Willmert came to the United States in 1872, arriving in Lincoln Nov. 16, at the home of his brother-in-law and sister Mr. and Mrs. Henry Armburst, with whom he made his home for seven years. His marriage to Miss Caroline Bock took place June 10, 1880, and they lived on a farm south of Lincoln three years; then moved in 1883 to a farm in Eminence township and in 1886 they purchased a farm adjoining then and spent the rest of their lives there. Mrs Willmert died January 23, 1946. Surviving are the following children: F. W. and Harold Willmert of Hope N.D.; George A. Willment, Myrtle and Katherine Willment, Atlanta; Mrs. Minnie Brautigan, Lincoln and Mrs. Marie Bode, McLean. The body was taken to Sheets Funeral home pending funeral arrangements.
