Roach being duly sworn deposes and says that Needham Roach late of the county of Logan & state of Illinois died testate at his residence in said county on or about the 25th day of September A.D. 1867. That said Needham Roach died seized of real and personal property estimated to be worth about $2000.00 and that said deceased left surviving him Eviline L. Fisher Rachel E. White John H. Roach Joseph E. Roach James Y. Roach heirs Sarah H. Miler children by his first wife & Mary A. Roach his widow & William F. Roach Martha A. Tuttle Abner F. David F. & Robert Roach is children by his second wife. Mary A. Roach State of Illinois Logan County I do solemnly swear that this writing contains the true last will and testament of Nedom Roach so far as we know or believe and that I will well and truly execute the same by first paying the debts and then the legacies mentioned therein as for as his goods and chattels will thereunto extend and the law charge me and that I will make a true and perfect inventory of all such good & chattels rights and credits as may come to my hand or knowledge belonging to the estate of said deceased and send a fair and just account of my executors when whereunto required by the law to the best of my knowledge and ability so help me God. Mary A. Roach In the name of God Amen I Needham Roach of the county of Logan and state of Illinois of the age of sixty years and being of sound mind and memory, do make, publish and declare, this my last will and testament in manner following that is to say. First it is my will that my funeral expenses and my just debts be fully paid. Second having given my eldest daughter Sarah M. Miler eighty acres of land in McCoupin county state of Illinois, and having given her heirs since her decease which I consider their share and so that I intend her or them to have three hundred dollars. Third To Evaline L. Fisher my second daughter I having given eighty acres of land lying in McCoupin county Illinois and other personal property being all that I intend giving her. Fourth To Rachel White my third daughter I have given one hundred & eighty dollars in money with other personal property which is all I intend giving her. Fifth To John H. Roach my eldest son I have given ninety acres of land in Menard county state of Illinois and other property all that I intend giving him. Sixth To Joseph E. Roach my second son I have given one hundred and five acres of land of which one hundred acres lyes in Menard county and five acres in Logan county state of Illinois being all that I intend giving him. Seventh To James Y. Roach my third son I have given ninety acres of land of which eighty acres of land lyes in McLean county and ten acres in Logan county state of Illinois. Eighth having heretofore and this day provided for my other children to wit my son William F. Roach my daughter Martha Ann Tuttle & my sons, Abner F. Roach and David F. Roach & Robert Roach by deeding them land. I give bequeath and devise all the residue of my real estate southwest(?) parts of lots two & three (2&3) in block fortytwo (42) in the town of Atlanta also lot nine (9) in Gills east addition to the town of Atlanta county of Logan and state of Illinois together with all the rest residue and remainder of my personal estate goods and chattels what nature or kin soever to my wife Mary Ann Roach to her sole use to do and dispose of as she may see proper who I hereby appoint sole executrix of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all former wills by me made. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this eleventh day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty five.
