Mr. Chapman was the junior member of the firm of Rogan & Chapman, barbers, and was an industrious, upright citizen. He was taken sick with typhoid fever some two months ago, from which he never fully recovered. Deceased was one of the charter members of the colored Masonic Lodge of this city, by whom he was buried at 3 o'clock this afternoon. The brethren of the Lodge were also very attentive to deceased during his protracted sickness, and did all they could for the comfort of himself and family. He leaves a widow and one child.
