The Paxton [IL] Weekly Record June 6, 1872
Bannister and Johnson, colored, quarreled at the St. Nicholas Hotel, Decatur, 
on Monday. Bannister shot at Johnson, missed him, but hit Riley Calhoun, also 
colored, in the neck, causing death in a few minutes.
