She was married to John Barnett March 17th, 1844, whose death occurred in April 1895. Nine children were born to this union, six of whom survive the parents. Mrs. Barnett was born in Lancaster county, Penn., and came to Macon county, Ill., in 1850. where she resided with her son, William Barnett, until her death. She was a member of the Lutheran church and lived a consistent christian life. Four of the children, Mrs. Houch, John, William, and Isaac Barnett, were present at her death. The funeral service was conducted by Rev. Ella Niswonger of the U.E. church of Argentina, at the Union church, and the remains laid to rest in the cemetery near there. Music was furnished by the Kirby choir, with Miss Anna Strope as Organist.
