Bowman Dies at 80 William N. Bowman, 80, a construction foreman for many years, died at 8:10 p.m. yesterday in the Moose Haven Home, Orange Park, Fla. Before going to Florida five years ago, Mr. Bowman lived at 968 West View St. He was a construction foreman on the building of the Lake Decatur dam, the Wabash Railroad's St. Louis Bridge and the Lake Decatur boat dock. He was last employed by C.R. Miller & Sons before his retirement 10 years ago. He had been a bridge foreman for the Wabash Railroad and was yard foreman for the Mueller Company 20 years. Mr. Bowman was born in Sangamon, Sept 20, 1872, a son of Ferdinand and the Barbara Minick Bowman, He was a member of the Central Christian church and of the Moose Lodge for more than 30 years. He leaves his wife, the former Mrs. Elizabeth Latshaw to whom he was married in Pasadena, Calif., in 1947, and five children by a previous marriage to Rachael Bowman. The children are Mrs. Irene Aitken, Mrs. Helen Conover, Miss Dorothy Bowman, Joseph and Frank Bowman, all of Decatur. There is a brother, Joseph H. Bowman, Decatur, five grandchildren, four great grandchildren and a step-son, Robert C. Latshaw, Pasadena. Two sons, a daughter, six brothers and three sisters preceded him in death. The body will be brought to the Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home where friends may call after 5 p.m. Sunday. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Monday in the funeral home chapel with burial in Graceland Cemtery.
