J. Aitken, 968 West View street, died at 1:13 p.m. yesterday in the Decatur and Macon County hospital. Miss Bowman was born in Decatur in 1901, and began a career in millinery here. She had been in Chicago several years, where she first was a model for several wholesale milliners. At the time of her illness she was a buyer and manager in millinary at the Marshall Field Co. Oak Park store. She was a member of the Church of Christ Scientist in Boston and also in Chicago. She is survived by her parents William N. and Rachel C. Bowman of Decatur, three sisters, Mrs. L. J. Aitken and Dorothy Jean Bowman of Decatur and Mrs. William Conover of Des Moines, Iowa, and two brothers, Floyd Joseph Bowman and Frank Jay Bowman, both of Decatur. The funeral will be Wednesday at 3 p.m. at the Dawson & Wikoff funeral home with burial in Graceland cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home.
