He would have beeen fifty-eight years old in Novermber. His death was caused by Bright's disease and heart trouble. Mr. Bowman had been in poor health for a long time and had been confined to his bed for the last ten weeks. WIDELY KNOWN Mr. Bowman was born near Sangamon Nov. 18, 1876. Most of his life was spent in Decatur. He, early in life, engaged in the transfer business, which brought him in touch with peole from all over the city and he was known to practically everybody in Decatur. Whe the automobile re place the horse-drawn vehicles he added a taxi line to his baggage and transfer business and continued that line until a few months ago. At that time his was said to be the oldest taxi line in Decatur. He was a member of the Modern Woodmen of America and was a member of theBaptist church and had many friend.s FUNERAL SUNDAY He is survived by his wife and two daughter, Mrs. Carl Moessner and Grace Bowman Jenkins, wife of Grover Jenkins, both of Decatur, and a grandson James Bowman II, son of Mr. And Mrs. Grover Jenkins. He also leaves the following brothers and sisters: John Bowman and William Bowman of Decatur, Tony Bowman of Springfield, J H Bowman of Chicago, Mrs. John Veech of Oakley, Mrs. C A Myers of Decatur, and Mrs. Emma Beal of Long Beach, Calif. The body was taken to Moran & Sons, funeral directors. The funeral will be held some time Sunday afternoon, the time and place not yet determined.
