BOWMAN PNEUMONIA VICTIM Assistant Yard Master With Wabash Railroad Frank F. Bowman, assistant yardmaster for the Wabash railroad in Decatur, died at 9:25 o'clock Tuesday night at the Wabash Employee's hosepital. He would have been sixty-three years old in July. His death was caused by pneumonia, after a short illness. The announcement of his death was a surprise to his many friends in Decatur, for few, if any, knew that his condition was critical. He was taken to the hospital Sunday, but he had not been in robust health for several months and had been in the hospital for short periods during that time so his friend did not realize that this attack was more serious than others. LONG WITH WABASH Mr. Bowman was born in Joliet July 8, 1860. He came to Decatur many years ago and about all of his active life was spent in this city. Most of his years in Decatur were served as an employee of the Wabash as a switchman and assistant yardmaster. HIs long years of faithful and continuous service speaks well for the character of the man. He was widely known in railroad circles and had many friends. Mr. Bowman leaves his wife, Mrs. Ida Bowman, a daughter, Mrs. Charles J Vail, and a son Glenn Bowman. He also leaves the following brother and sisters: Joseph Bowman, William Bowman, James Bowman, Anthony Bowman and Mrs. C A Myers, all of Decatur; Mrs. Emma Fahay of Long Beach, Calif., John Bowman of Kansas City, Mo., and Mrs. Clara Veech of Oakley. The body was removed to the Moran & Sons undertaking establishment and prepared for burial. The funeral service for Frank Bowman will be held at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon in the home of his duagher, Mrs. C J Vail, 636 East Orchard street, conducted by Rev. J O Todd of the First U. B. Church. The body will be removed to the Vail residence Wednesday evening and friends may call there.
