Downey, 81, widow of John W. Downey, will be held in the Moran & Sons funeral home at 2 p.m.. Burial will be in Macon county Memorial Park cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. today. Mrs. Downey, widow of a former Wabash railroad man, died at 9:40 p.m. Tuesday in her home at 1550 North Calhoun street. She had been in failing health for three years and seriously ill for six weeks. She was born in Dillon Dec 24, 1859 and had lived in the vicinity of Decatur 60 years. She was a charter member of the First Nazarene church. A former husband, Willis L. Ward, preceded her in death. Mr Downey died in 1936. She leaves a son, Willis Ward, west of Decatur, and seven grandchildren. Three children and 11 brothers and sisters preceded her in death.
