HARPSTRITE, AGED 84, DEAD Lived Half Centur on East Prairie Mrs. Margaret Harpstrite died at her home, 544 East Prairie, early Monday mornin, after an illness of pneumonia. She was eighty-four years old, and has made her home in Decatur since 1854, having lived in the home on Prairie street for over fifty years. Mrs. Harpstrite was born in Germany eighty-four years ago, and when quite a young child she came with her parents to his country. She married August Harpstrite in Belleville, Ill about sixty years ago, and later they moved to Decatur where they have lived since. NINE CHILDREN There are nice children, all of whom are living. The children are John, George, Charles, Fred, Augustus, Frank, Julia, Margaret, and Mrs. L. W. Bickes. One sister, Mrs Clara Schlosser, lives in Seattle, Wash. Augustus Harpstrite lives in Los Angeles, and will probably not come for the funeral, although no arrangements will be made until he is heard from.
