The funeral will be held at the Christian church Sunday afternoon. Mr. Marlatt was born in Ohio, Feb. 6, 1843. While still a small boy the family moved to Covington, Ind. In 1868 he came to Macon county and in 1976 he married Mary Ellen Hanks, a daughter of the late William B. Hanks. For a few years they lived west of Maroa, then bought a farm three miles southeast of this place, where they remained until moving to Maroa six years ago and buying the town property where he died. Mr. Marlatt was a democrat in politics, and a prominent man in the community. He is survived by his wife and the following children: Roy Marlatt of Middle Inlet, Wis.; Harry Marlatt of Sac county, Iowa; Mrs. Minnie Greenfield, Argenta; Kate Marlatt, at home, and Albert and Lynn Marlatt, who reside on the farm southeast of town.
