LUCY WARD WAS OLD RESIDENT Dies at Home of Daughter in Springfield Mrs. Lucy Ward, sixty-five years old, and for many years a resident of Macon couty, died at 4:30 Sunday afternoon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. To ny Bowman, in Springfield. Her death was due to the infirmities of old age. Mrs. Ward was a native of Ireland. She was born near Dublin in 1850, but came to America at an early age and most of her life was spent in Macon county. She and Patrick Ward were married in 1880. For many years they made their home in South Wheatland township, where Mr. Ward was engages in farming. Mr. Ward died ten years ago and then Mrs. Ward came to Decatur to live. She made her home here until the last year, when she went to Springfield to live with her daughter. She is survived by seven children, Mrs. Tony Bowman of Springfield; Miss Anna Ward of Decatur; Joseph W. Ward of Rock Island; T. H. Ward of Clarksdale and James, William and Frank Ward, all of Decatur. J. J. Moran brought the body to Decatur Monday morning and it was taken to the home of Frank Ward, 617 West Decatur street. The funeral will be held at 9 o'clock Tuesday morning at St. Patrick's Catholic church. The services will be conducted by Rev. Father Murphy. The interment will be at Calvary. Relatives have asked that no flowers be sent.
