In 1836, his wife and seven children came to USA along with other families, all relatives, the Hooks, Howertons, Churchs, and Eddingtons. They came by sailboat, being afraid of the steamboat. The land on which they settled was deeded to Charles Hucklebridge in 1841 and signed by President of United States.
