JOSEPH ANDERSON SKEEN (of John and Hem Catherine WHITE SKEEN) was born 
February 10, 1803 in Jefferson Co TN, and died July 19, 1835 in Chesterfield Macoupin Co 
IL. He married JUDITH/JULIA/JUDY BROWN LIVELY July 26, 1818 in Jefferson Co TN, daughter 
of Leonard BROWN and Ann MCENTIRE BROWN (MCENTIRE not maiden; maiden 
unknown).

Notes:

Anderson and Judith listed numbers 27 and 76 respectively on the Charter Roll of members 
for the new meeting house of the Friendship Primitive Baptist Church that was formed 12 
Mar 1819 on Long Creek near White Pine, Jefferson Co TN.

Anderson Skeen listed on the 1830 East TN Census, Jefferson Co, p 331.

Anderson Skeen bought Federal Land 8 Aug 1834 (40 acres in Macoupin Co while residing 
in Greene Co) and 22 Oct 1834 (40 acres in Macoupin Co, now residing in Macoupin Co)

Joseph Anderson Skeen is buried in Smith-Kirby Cemetery, now called Chesterfield 
Cemetery, located about a mile northeast of Chesterfield on Route 111.

FITZJARRELL; m. (2) AMANDA.

ii. CATHERINE MARGARET SKEEN, b. November 13, 1821, Nashville Davidson Co TN; 
d. November 08, 1897, Pattonsburg Davies Co MO; m. DANIEL FITZJARRELL, March 
11, 1841.

iii. (GENERAL) HENRY WOODSON SKEEN, b. September 29, 1823, Nashville Davidson 
Co TN; m. GEORGIA ANN GANO.

iv. RACHEL ELEANDOR "ELLEN" SKEEN, b. October 22, 1825, Nashville Davidson Co 
TN; m. JOHN MARION CHISM.

v. MARY MARTHA SKEEN, b. August 22, 1827, Nashville Davidson Co TN; d. October 
01, 1828.

vi. WILLIAM ANDERSON SKEEN, b. October 22, 1829, Nashville Davidson Co TN; d. 
October 22, 1856; m. 17 Feb 1848 to ELIZABETH STULTS.

vii. (GENERAL) BAXTER MARION SKEEN, b. 1832, Washington Co TN; m. (1) 
09 Apr 1854 to LUCINDA PATTERSON SMITH; m. (2) MARY HENDERSON.

viii. LEONARD LAFAYETTE SKEEN, b. September 12, 1834, Macoupin Co IL; d. 22 Oct 1856.
