Name of Newspaper: The Daily Enquirer Date of Obituary: March 13, 1908 Obituary: William B. ARNOLD, aged 60 years, died at his home in Second Ward Thursday afternoon at 4:15 o'clock, after an illness of about six months. He was born in Macoupin and lived in this vicinity nearly all of his life. On November 1, 1864 he enlisted in the 62nd Illinois Volunteer Infantry in Co. B, and served his country until March 6, 1866, when he was honorably discharged. Besides his wife, who is also in ill health, he is survived by two sons and one daughter, namely: J. W. and J. L. ARNOLD, of Alton, and Mrs. Mabel FAITH of East St. Louis. One brother, George ARNOLD, and one sister, Mrs. Anna CLEVENGER, of this city, also survive. The funeral services will be held from the family residence on Second South street Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev. A. H. RHODES, pastor of the Baptist church, officiating. Interment will be made in the city cemetery. The funeral will be attended in a body by the local G.A.R. post and the Federation of Labor.
