(MILLER) Name of Newspaper: unknown Date of Obituary: Nov 1927 Obituary: Life of Mrs. W. R. EDDINGTON Eliza E. EDDINGTON (nee) MILLER was born near Albany, N. Y., on May 5, 1846, and died in Brighton Township, Macoupin County, Illinois, on Nov. 14, 1927, at the age of 81 years, 6 months and 9 days. About the year 1851 the family came to Alton, Ill., and resided there until 1857, when they moved to a farm in Brighton Township. About the year 1862 she became a member of the German Methodist Church of Alton and at the time of removal to the farm, she transferred her membership to the German Methodist Church of Fosterburg, and retained it there until her death. On June 23, 1867, she was united in marriage with Wm. R. Eddington, and to this union four children were born. They were Luella O. STROHBECK, O. Hiram Eddington, Harvey O. Eddington and Norman O. Eddington. She is survived by her husband, children, eleven grandchildren, one brother, two sisters and a host of friends. Having lived more than 60 years at the home where she died, she knew a large number of the people of this vicinity. She was a true wife, a loving mother, and a good neighbor. She had been a helpless invalid for almost eleven years, and totally blind for the last seven years, but she was always cheerful and she never complained of her affliction, altho she fully realized and said years ago that she never would be well again. So when her time had fully come, without a struggle, she fell asleep on earth to awake in heaven. The funeral service was conducted on Nov. 10 at the church in Woodburn where she was married more than 60 years ago, and the interment was made in the nearby cemetery. -------------------------------------------------- Name of Deceased: EDDINGTON, Eliza E.
