Oct. 13, 1911 Obituary: Mrs. Helena FAULSTICH, nee CONRAD, was born in Kesselbach, Hessen-Darmstadt, Germany December 31, 1839. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter CONRAD, respected residents of that place. Mrs. FAULSTICH was raised in her native town and finally was confirmed in the town of Londorf. In the year of 1861 she was married to John FAULSTICH and in 1868 she and Mr. FAULSTICH emigrated to the United States, along with the three eldest children. Immediately after landing, she with her husband settled in Staunton which place has been her home ever since. During her long stay in Staunton, Mrs. FAULSTICH has made many friends and in her death they mourn a friend whose place will be hard to fill. Being of a kindly and yet retiring disposition, it may well be said, "None knew her but to love her." Eight of the ten children born to the union survive her as living example of her integrity and fill their position in life as a credit to their mother, whose guiding hand has done much to make them men and women strong in the world of business and character. Her death occurred at her home about 5:20 p.m. on Friday, October 6, 1911 and at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon, the last funeral rites were pronounced and she was laid to rest in the city cemetery, Rev. J.G.F. Kleinhans performing the last sad rites. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband, John FAULSTICH, eight children, Rev. Wm. FAULSTICH of Whittemore, IA, Mrs. Rev. M. LEIMER of Beemer, Neb., Louis, Henry, George, Charles, Mrs. Charles KRUSE of this place and Mrs. August KEISLING of St. Louis; a sister, Mrs. Christ FISCHER and a brother, William CONRAD of St. Louis.
