Obituary of Wilhelmina Augusta GRIMM , Macoupin County Illinois 2 June 1998 Contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives ©1998 Joan Miley Name of Deceased: GRIMM, Wilhelmina Augusta Name of Newspaper: Staunton Star-Times Date of Obituary: July 16, 1936 Obituary: Mrs. Wilhelmina Augusta GRIMM, aged 74 years, 8 months and 27 days, died Saturday (July 11) morning at 3:30 o'clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Helen GREENE, in St. Louis. She had been in failing health for some time. Mrs. GRIMM was born in Germany on October 14, 1861. When quite young she came to this country. At mature age she was united in marriage with Robert HAUSTEIN of this city, who died a number of years ago. Later she married Ernest GRIMM, who also preceded her in death three years ago. For some time past she has made her home with the daughter, Mrs. GREENE, in St. Louis. The remains were brought to this city to the Carleton Funeral Cottage, from where the funeral was held Monday afternoon, services being conducted at the Zion Lutheran church, Rev. J.G F. Kleinhans officiating. Interment was in Memorial Park. The venerable lady is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Robert BOSWELL and Mrs. Helen GREENE of St. Louis; three sons, Oscar HAUSTEIN of Chicago, Robert HAUSTEIN of Belleville and William HAUSTEIN of Staunton; four stepdaughters, Mrs. Emma BAUMAN of Staunton; Misses Frieda and Anna GRIMM of St. Louis, and Mrs. Minnie HAUSTEIN of Golden City, MO; three stepsons, Paul, Curt and Jack GRIMM of this city, also other more distant relatives. Mrs. GRIMM, during her long residence in our city, earned the respect of all who met her. She was a devoted member of the local Zion Lutheran church.
