GRIMM, for over forty years a resident of our community, died at his home in the south part of town at 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, after a illness of but a few days. Ernest Grimm was born in Saxony, Germany on December 30, 1860. He spend his early years in the old country, coming to this country some 41 years ago. He was twice married, his first wife being Miss Johanna HOCHMUTH, who passed away quite a number of years ago. He was later married to Mrs. Wilhemina HAUSTEIN, who survives. He was the father of 9 children, 2 of whom died in infancy. His funeral will be held tomorrow in the afternoon from the family home at 1:30 p.m., followed by services at the Zion Lutheran church, with Rev. J.G. F. Kleinhans officiating, burial will be at the Staunton City cemetery. Pall bearers were Chas. F. FRITZ, Martin HILLER, Paul HAUSTEIN, George GEIGER, Ernest WEISS and Harry ZUDE. Left to cherish the memory of Ernest GRIMM are the widow, Mrs. Wilhelmina GRIMM; three sons, Paul, Curt, and John GRIMM of Staunton; four daughters, Mrs. Louis BAUMAN of this city, Mrs. Max HAUSTEIN of Golden City, MO, and Misses Anna and Frieda GRIMM of St. Louis; five stepchildren, William HAUSTEIN of Staunton, Oscar HAUSTEIN of Chicago, Robert HAUSTEIN of Belleville, Mrs. Dona GREEN and Mrs. Rosa BOSWELL of St. Louis; also 7 grandchildren and more distant relatives and friends. Ernest Grimm was a kindly gentleman. He was a quiet, unobtrusive man who lived his life as a beloved husband and a kindly father and a good neighbor.
