Obituary of Henry HAYS, Macoupin County Illinois 22 March 1998 Contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives ©1998 Barbara (Hays) Clayton Name of Deceased: Hays, Henry Name of Newspaper: Moweaqua CALL-MAIL Date of Obituary: May 20, 1914 Obituary: THE LAST BUGLE CALL IS SOUNDED FOR VETERAN HENRY HAYS, DIES MONDAY NIGHT, FUNERAL TODAY Henry Hays, aged seventy-three and a Veteran of the Civil War, died Monday night May 18, 1914, at his home in Moweaqua, after a seven month illness. He came with his parents when a child, to Christian County, then to Shelby County and since then has been living in the vicinity of Moweaqua. Deceased was a member of E. Company of the 32nd Illinois Regiment during the Civil War. He was a member of the J.V. Clemens Post 363, G.A.R. and was an officer in that organization. Funeral services were held this afternoon, May 20, 1914, at the Baptist Church, Reverand Pengelly officiating.
