Fifteenth Annual Report of the State Bureau of Labor Statistics, 1896
Fritz Immeroth, aged 55 years, left a widow and four children dependents, 
occupation loader, was killed at 4 p. m., December 7, 1895, by a fall of roof in 
mine No. 6 of the Consolidated Coal Company of St. Louis, at Staunton, Macoupin 
county. He was loading a car in the entry near a room that was being turned when a 
piece of slate fell, crushing him on the top of the car and causing instant death.
