Nineteenth Annual Report of the Illinois Bureau of Labor Statistics, 1900
December 4, 1899, Andrew Markavitch, miner, aged 26 years, single, was fatally 
injured by a fall of rock in the Chicago-Virden Coal Co’s. No. 1 mine at Virden; 
it was found that his back was broken; he died December 9, 1899.
