Obituary of Nellie ARNOLD ROBINSON Macoupin County Illinois 20 Feb 1999 Contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives ©1999 Marilyn Galvan (Died: December 25, 1970) Mrs. Nellie ROBINSON of Carlinville, who was well-known throughout this area, passed away Christmas Day at 1 PM at Area Hospital where she had been a patient three weeks. She was 78 years of age. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Heinz Funeral Home with the Rev. Wendell P. Stanford, pastor of 1st Baptist- Presbyterian (Federated) Church, officiating. Mrs. George Reid was organist and Mr. Reid was vocalist for the services. Interment was in Mayfield Memorial Park Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were ThomasP.Carmody, Donald Cairns, A. W. Whitler, Russell T. Arnett, Howard C. Heinz, & Harold Heinz. Mrs. Robinson, the widow of Oral I. Robinson, was born Oct. 4, 1892 at Carlinville, a daughter of Wm. & Emma BOWYER ARNOLD. She and Mr. ROBINSON observed their 40th wedding anniversary in 1949 and he passed away in Nov. 1950. She worked for about 45 years as a practical nurse with Dr. E. R. Chamness. She was devoted to her work and served very capably in her chosen profession. She was also interested in community affairs and activities. She was a member of the Carlin Belles. Mrs. Robinson is survived by six children, Mrs. Ora Mae CWINSKI of Berwyn, Eugene ROBINSON of Los Angeles, Mrs. Helen TROVER of Carlinville, Mrs. Orzelma LATVAITIS of Summit, Mrs. Dorothy MOR of Gillespie, and Richard ROBINSON of Fountain, CO; 15 grandchildren, and 19 great- grandchildren. Also two sisters, Mrs. Myrtle FONES of Bellevillle and Mrs. Mildred HAILSTONE of Benton, KY, and one brother Harry ARNOLD of Los Angeles. Besides her husband, she was preceeded in death by a son John, two infant daughters, and a brother and sister.
